We supply organic, fair trade cotton, calico & denim
Our fabric
- is approx 120cm wide except cord which is 150cm wide.
- is mostly handwoven from organic cotton grown from non GM seed
- which is handwoven, has irregularities which are part of it’s character and do not affect it’s strength
- where coloured, is dye fast and has been coloured using non azo reactive dyes
- is preshrunk
- is not treated with wrinkle inhibitors
The handloom fabric is a shirting weight, the calico is slightly heavier. Although the same weight of yarn is used for both fabrics, the calico is woven on a small domestic sized powerloom, and as such the threads can be pushed closer together by the machine. Therefore it is a denser and slightly heavier fabric.
